In spoken English, we use intonation to add additional information to the words that are spoken.
Intonation can tell the listener several things: whether a sentence is ending, or if it’s just a pause between clauses, whether it’s a question or sentence, what type of question it is, or even the speaker’s mood.
Here are some basic rules:
A. Listen to the statements from the listening exercise. Pay attention to the intonation and mark the intonation of each sentence.
