Vocabulary Building: American vs British Englsh

In this unit, you learned the word “burnt.” In both American and British English, the simple past and past participle of “burn” can be either “burned” or “burnt.” In American English, “burned” is more
common as the simple past, and both spellings are commonly used for the past participle. In British English, “burnt” is more common for both forms.
