Reading Beginnings – Level 1
Reading Beginnings is an introductory-level reading course focused primarily on the vocabulary students need for basic, everyday English, as well as an introduction to basic reading skills such as context clues, main ideas, and scanning. After the initial 10 units of vocabulary- and skill-building exercises, students practice vocabulary and reading skills in a 2-unit novelette that both reviews and builds on what was learned throughout the book.
Speaking Beginnings – Level 1
Speaking Beginnings is an introductory- level listening and speaking course focused on the language and functions required to build basic fluency and comprehension skills so that students can deal with common situations and topics in an English-speaking environment. Development of basic pronunciation skills is also emphasized through stress and reduction exercises accompanying new language and functions.
Grammar Beginnings – Level 1
Grammar Beginnings is an introductory-level grammar course focused on helping students develop the fundamental grammar skills needed for basic, everyday English. In 12 units, Grammar Beginnings covers the essential verb tenses and parts of speech that English-language learners need as building blocks for future courses as well as for survival English.
