Often, you can guess at the meaning of a new word by looking at its function in a sentence and using knowledge of the words around it, as well as knowledge of similar words. When you see a new word, you should ask yourself questions to help you determine the meaning.

Look at the statements from the monologue below. For each new term and expression, ask yourself questions and use context clues to come up with a definition.
